Takashi Murakami is one of the world's most revered pop artists today. Whether it's his work with fashion houses like Louis Vuitton or creative collaborations with the likes Kanye West and Kid Cudi, Murakami is today's Warhol.
One of our favorite pieces is currently held in Tokyo, Japan at the Tomio Koyama Gallery. The intricate detailing and multiple "signature pop" visuals through his unique technique, draws the audience in without moving animation.
Entitled "Melting Dob C", this piece was executed in 1999 and is currently available for purchase at around £400,000-£650,000. The signed and dated "TAKASHI99" piece is made with acrylic on canvas and mounted on a board measuring 39 ½ x 39 ½in.
